The current research aims at identifying the effect of the counseling program on the realistic approach to reducing selfishness among the blind students in Al Noor Institute in Baghdad governorate. The current research is determined by blind students at Al Noor Institute in Baghdad for the year 2016/2017. To achieve the goal of the research, the semi-experimental design method was used (experimental group and control group with pre and post test). The sample consisted of (20) randomly distributed students in two groups (experimental group and control group) and 10 students in each group. To make parity between the two groups in some variables and the researcher built a measure of the reduction of selfish behavior, which is (30) paragraph. The researcher also applied a mentoring program (the realist method) according to the cognitive theory. (Glaser), was implemented through a program of guidance prepared for the purpose of reducing the behavior of selfishness, and may be the program of guidance (11) session (2 sessions) per week, the time of the session (45) minutes. The following statistical methods were used: (Kay square, Lukoxen test, Pearson correlation coefficient, T test, weighted mean, percent weight, Vaccronbach equation, Manny Whitney test and Kolmogroff-Simranov test). The results showed that the realistic approach has an effect in reducing the selfish behavior of blind students. In the light of the results, the researcher made a number of recommendations and suggestions..
