Abstract

Divorce is a psycho-social problem, and it is a phenomenon that is widely spread in our Arab societies at the present time, and all the heavenly religions consider it the most hated halal by God because of the negative effects it has on the disintegration of the family and the increase in hostility and hatred and negative effects on children, and then the social and psychological effects starting. From mental disorders to delinquency, Hence, divorce is one of the ordeals that lead to the loss and collapse of the energy of confrontation and resistance, and this matter is worrying because when a person loses the ability to confront, he becomes a weak person and threatens his health and morale, and the possibility of contracting various diseases and emotional disorders is likely. And

then the individual becomes pessimistic, unable to conform and communicate in a positive spirit. This makes the individual dependent, negative, complaining a lot, less optimistic and a lot of anxiety and apprehension about the future because these pressures not only affect human feelings and emotions, but also affect many of his other abilities, including: His ability to confront and proper thinking.

In order to achieve the objectives of the research, which include identifying:

1-The ability of the self to confront the divorced women.

2-The differences in the ability of the self to confront, according to the variable of the profession.

  The researcher relied on the descriptive approach, as he built a scale of self-ability to confront, which consists of (30) items distributed over two areas, and then he extracted the psychometric properties of the scale on a sample of (400) absolute and (24) items were retained, and then distributed. items of the scale on the actual research sample consisting of (300) divorced women, and when analyzing the answers of divorced women, the research results showed the following:

1- The research sample does not have Self-ability to cope.

2- There is no effect of the profession in reducing the Self-ability to cope.
