Abstract

The food industry occupies an important position among the industrial transformational sectors, and these industries work to transform agricultural crops and animal products into an image suitable for consumption in the long or short term. This study came to shed light on the food industries in the Jamila Industrial Area from the beginning of their settlement in the year (1961 to 2020) and to indicate the stages of their inception and development and the most important factors that helped their settlement in this region. Duration (2003 - 2019) As a large number of its facilities stopped, and consequently, the contribution of this industry to employment and production decreased, and the import rate of many food products increased, which led to a decline in competitiveness, as well as a lack of expertise and qualifications in many of the disciplines necessary for the food industries. The study also showed that there are several factors It helped to settle these industries, including capital, raw materials, labor, market, energy, fuel and transportation, and the number of its facilities for the year 2020 reached (51) facilities, and these industries suffer from a set of obstacles and challenges that stand in the way of their development and growth.
