Raouf Chadirji his life, career and political role until 1924
Abstract
The research deals with the personality of "Raouf Chadirji", who was one of the most prominent legal experts in Iraq, parliamentarian, politician and diplomat during the monarchy. He studied law in Istanbul. He held various administrative positions during the Ottoman era. He became a representative of Hilla in the Constituent Assembly in 1924, a minister twice during the royal era and a minister plenipotentiary in Ankara and London. Therefore, it was necessary to study the character for its leadership qualities, which were and still are controversial in their assessment.
He stood against the first Iraqi-British treaty, demanded its amendment and voted against it, but his position changed after that, as the researcher did not find positions or opinions for him in the Constituent Assembly when discussing the Basic Law and the Parliament elections.
