The research dealt with the effect of temperature variation on the thickness of the pressure level 1000 - 500 HPA for (11) years 2008 – 2018. The thickness maps of the above-mentioned pressure level were analyzed with the aim of identifying. The spatio- temporal variation of atmospheric thickness and its relationship to the temperature component in Iraq .The findings of the research, there is a strong correlation between the temperature and the atmospheric thickness within the level of 1000 - 500 HPA. Statistical evidence confirmed this link .The correlation with the temperature (normal, minimum, and maximum) was a very strong (almost perfect) directive relationship. As temperatures rise, the thickness of the atmosphere increases, and with its decrease, the thickness of the atmosphere decreases.
