Abstract

Before 2003, the Municipality of Baghdad included within its borders nine municipalities, and due to the expansion of the city and the increase in the number of its residents, and the expansion of its urbanization, it now includes fifteen municipalities after the division of a number of large municipalities, such as Al-Sadr City, Al-Kadhimiya, Al-Adhamiya, Al-Rasheed and New Baghdad, as well as changing a number of their names and borders. Municipal. These municipalities provide their services to the city's residents. From here, we tried to identify the municipal departments in the city of Baghdad, the locations of their departments, their most important features, their administrative boundaries, their area, the numbers of their residents, their residential units, and the residential and commercial buildings in them. The research included three topics, the first of which we devoted to talking about the emergence of the city of Baghdad and its Mayoralty, and in the second topic we presented the municipal departments on the Rusafa side of Baghdad, while in the third topic we presented the municipal departments on the Karkh side. We concluded the research with a set of conclusions.
