Abstract

In our research, we dealt with the social life in the Maghreb in the Fatimid era for the period (296-362 AH / 908-972 AD), which is the period during which the Fatimid state ruled the Maghreb.. The classes of Moroccan society in the Fatimid era varied, starting with the ruler and images of the parish and passing through all its categories. The drama reflected the true picture of the life of the ruling people who collected the country’s money and spent it on building shining palaces at the expense of the suffering of the subjects. Knowing the type of food, dress, and festivities of the inhabitants of the Maghreb in the Fatimid era gives us a clear idea of their lifestyle and the extent of their social sophistication. In completing this research, we relied on a number of historical sources, including: the book (Initiation of the Call) by Judge Al-Numan (T.: 363 AH / 973 AD) and the book (Akhbar and Biography of the Kings of Bani Ubaid) by Ibn Hammad (T.: 628 AH / 1231 AD), and the book (Al-Bayan Al-Maghrib Min Akhbar Andalusia and the Maghreb) by Ibn Adhari (t.: 695 AH / 1295 AD) and the book (Al-Mukhtasar fi Akhbar al-Bishr) by Abu al-Fida (t. 732 AH / 1131 AD), and among the references that were relied upon are (The History of the Fatimid State) by Hassan Ibrahim Hassan, and (Islamic Civilization in the Century Fourth Hijri) by Adam Metz, and other sources and references that enriched the research and produced it in this way.
