Abstract

The current research aims to define the necessary training needs for Arabic language male and female teachers in the intermediate stage from their point of view. The research population determined by the total of Arabic language male and female teachers in Baghdad governorate distributed in the general educational directorates, in a total of (3522) male and female teacher, a sample of the total was taken according to the multistage random sample – specifically the two - staged sample – its individuals number was (359) male and female teachers, the researcher conducted a field study on a field sample to achieve the goal of the study, the researcher designed a closed questionnaire then exposed it to a group of expertise experts to verify the validity of each item of its items, after calculated the agreement rate among the experts, the research tool was formed in its final format with (58) items distributed on two parts: the first part is (the training program themes), includes (35) items distributed on (5) domains ; including (35) items distributed on (5) domains; (planning, methods of teaching, application of lesson, and the educational, professional, and social needs, and the assessment), the second part is (administrative and technical requirements which are necessary to achieve the training program), including (23) items. distributed on five domains: (timing of the program, motivations of teachers to participate in training program, the role played by the trainee to achieve the program, place of training, manners of evaluation teachers). The researcher made sure of the research tool validity depending on the test and the re-test method, where the general average of validity was (86%). After analyzing the data and getting the results and interpreting the results, the researcher has come up with a group of conclusions, there is a lack in the studies that dealt with the training needs of Arabic language male and female teachers in the intermediate stage, including: the teachers prefer the times that cause no confusion during the course of the teaching process for both of the teacher and the student, and the touched and instant encouragement reinforces the desire of the teacher to attend the training program, and there is a growing in the awareness among the teachers about the importance and the necessity of the indirect training. And in the light of the conclusion, the researcher recommended: And the need of those responsible for the planning and the design of training programs to take care of the teachers views when carrying out their work with regard to their training needs or with regard to the necessary requirements to achieve the training programs. The researcher suggested: conducting studies similar to the current study in the other provinces and governorates, and in the various studying stages and subjects

and avoiding the intervention of the needs that could be done through other ways, so that the training programs would not be weakened and to be far from its basic goals.
