Abstract

Introduction

The term " narrative image" is a modern subject has attracted the curiosity of researchers and critics in the recently because the image represents a great importance in the semiotic studies and cultural analysis . Besides, the image can describe visual address and linguistically it owns various functional dimensions within the consignment literary communicative process beginning from text to meaning and reference and then to the reader who has a role in its interpretation.

182This research is a try in reading " stereotype of south character " in the Iraqi novel as intertext reading with the virtual image which can shed light on the world of psychological, social, and cultural meaning of the character. The static stereotype represents an important means to invest the center of virtual vision in determining the identity of narrative character.
