Abstract

 Large section of our society suffers from several negative behaviors that some members in society exert aiming at discriminating and excluding elders from some social role which they exerted previously either to compete them for opportunities and roles they occupy or due to their weakness and their lacking for benefit under the development revolution that most of societies have witnessed. To identify some facts related to this concept we need to develop instrument to measure the discrimination directed towards the elders which has standard characteristics of psychological scales and its application on other important section of society which is university students. Sample about 331 male and female students has been chosen from different scientific and humanistic specializations and of different ages and from both genders. After manipulating data, the research results in existence of age discrimination directed towards elders in all levels of demographic research variables except the age variable for the students whose age approach the elders age did not show discrimination against elders. In the light of what has been presented a set of recommendations and suggestions has been set.
