Abstract

Abstract relations between Syria and Iran were characterized by tension and disruptions in the era of the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. When the Shah fell and the 1979 Islamic Revolution was established, relations changed radically, especially after Syria ended its alliance with Egypt. Syria declared its support for Iran and took a stand on Iraq.
