Assessing Arabic Language Book for the Middle School Students of Grade 9 considering the quality of school a book
Abstract
This research objective is to evaluate Arabic language book for the Middle School Students of grade 9, considering the quality of school a book and to achieve this objective, the researcher followed a descriptive analysis methodology since is it well suited for this research, the population of this research are mainly male and female teachers that teach grade 9 students for the year 2017-2018 in Iraq. The researcher chosen a random sample of (205) female and male teachers that teach the Arabic language that totally represent (10%) of the total population, distributed among the schools of the General Directorates of Education, the researcher asked for specialists in the field of teaching Arabic language.
As for the research tool, the researcher prepared a list (quality of the book), which included (100) standard paragraph, distributed over six areas (introduction, content, activities, means of assessment, language of the book, artistic direction of a book), the researcher processed the data statistically using the weighted mean and percentage. The research study resulted in the following conclusions:
- More attention need to be dedicated to the authoring of Arabic language books according to quality standards.
- The researcher suggested conducting an assessment study of Arabic language curriculum for middle schools from the point of view of educational supervisors.
