Comparative study of electronic bullying among student's grades (middle , secondary and university)

Abstract

bullying is wide problem that has negative repercussions consists
bullying behaviors directly, such as teasing and ridicule, threats, beatings
and robbery, which is initiated by the more powerful student (physical or
psychological) against the victim is the phenomenon of electronic
bullying phenomena that cause damage rather than on social relations
only, but it extends to causing psychological problems which confirms
that this variable is an urgent need to look particularly as the Iraqi
individual has lived for the past four decades in the tragedy between the
wars and the siege of economic and political strife and analysis, as most
things have been in Iraqi life of the distortion, which significantly
affected in an individual's life and behavior.
Studies have began in the psychological and social phenomenon of
electronic bullying that may occur to the victims effects, and the consequences that may lead to it. The consequences cyberbullying is a
multi-faceted consequences, and affect behavior. According to research
the effects of the most critical respondents represented in low self-esteem,
Unity, disappointment, and mistrust of people.
The importance of current research being looking at the phenomenon
and the problem of educational and social very serious in our society, It
has negative consequences for the educational process and adapt to
students and mental health, social relations and the foregoing it is clear
that cyberbullying strong type of psychological abuse, which is likely to
be victims suffering from disorders and the problems that have negative
effects on both the bully or the victim or the school environment.
This research aims to finding out the level of the cyberbullying among
a sample search and also find significant differences in the evolution of
the cyberbullying depending on variables (sex and grade).
This research include sample of (300) students consisted of (100)
students from Baghdad University / College of Education / Ibn al-
Haytham , and (100) pupils from Secondary schools and by (50) males
and (50) females, and( 100) pupils From the middle schools and the rate
of (50) males and( 50) females.
To achieve the objectives Find been building measure of the bullymail
as it was drafted (30) items and use the scale triple-tiered to measure
the sample responses to the paragraphs of the scale and given the
alternatives (always, sometimes, never) weights (1.2, 3), respectively.
The researcher found the validity for the scale by two methods:
1-Face validity by exposing it to experts.
2-Construct validity through measuring connecting total mark of scale
with students’ marks on its items.
Reliability has been found by two methods:
Split-half method and alfa coefficient cronbach. The scale reliability
coefficient that has reversed by Sperman Brown formula was (0.76) and
alfa cronbach was (0.86). So the instrument has become ready for
achieving the research’s aims.
The search results were as follows :
.The sample as a whole does not have an electronic bully .1
2-There are significant statistical differences between males and females
in favor of males.
3-There are significant differences depending on the grades ( middle and
Secondary and university ) and in favor of the ( middle grade and then
followed by Secondary grade and then university .
According to the results the researcher put some recommendations and
suggestions.
