Abstract

The research is interested in the subject of the word (RAHAQ) in our linguistic dictionaries, starting from the Al-Ain by Al-Khaleel and ending with the Taj Al-Aroos by Murtada Alzubaidi, in addition to the other linguistic books as well.

It turns out that this article has two very close roots. One of these roots means that something is to be surrounded and controlled by another thing, while the other means haste and delay.

Here we have an example of what the first root means. It's been said: (Rahiqaho Al-Amro): (He's been covered with it). Perhaps the word (Rahiqaho) refers to wide-Step camels. They almost cover you when you walk before them to drag them because of their great steps.

The second root is haste. It's been said: (Rahiqa Fulanon Fulanan): (Somebody followed Someone else and he was about to catch up him). As well as (Rahiqani Al-Rajulo): (The man followed me and he was about to catch up me).

The link between the two roots can be found clearly because the meaning of coverage can only be achieved by the presence of convergence and closeness. I.e. You can not cover the thing unless you get closer to it and vice versa.

The word (RAHAQ) has lots of meanings, such as Accusation and sin, humiliation and feebleness, seduction, decay, exaltedness, lordliness, coercion, reaching destruction and so on.

In the Holy Koran, this article was referred ten times: It comes as a triliteral verb plus a foremost object pronoun and a backward subject noun five times. As a quadriliteral transitive with (Hamza) present tense verb plus a subject tacit pronoun, a foremost object relative pronoun, and a backward object noun three times. And two times as an infinitive.

It indicates various meanings that have been extensively explained within the books of interpretation. These models have their own structural characteristics and diacritical forms, which identified within the research
