Abstract

       Learning styles are the cornerstones of an effective learning process that have an impact on learners' academic attainment but may not receive sufficient attention. This may be due to the lack of knowledge of the learner himself in his learning style as well as the teacher's lack of awareness of appropriate styles for his students, Learning in one way even if it is not appropriate for the thinking of the majority of them (Al-Ghamdi, 2013(

Learning styles are a necessity dictated by the nature of teaching and learning in which the personality types, characteristics, styles and tools of the learners play a key role. This trend focuses on how learning occurs rather than on how much students have learned. The difference between learners in academic performance may be due to differences in learning styles because it relates to how individuals deal with the information contained in the curriculum (ongoing, 2015, p. 7(

The multiple references in many of the theoretical writings emphasized the link between learning styles and The Personality Types, which led the researcher to explore the relationship between learning styles, The Personality Types of the nine students (Rob Fitzel 2011)

The research problem is summarized in the following questions:

Is there a relationship between learning styles and The Personality Types? What nature and amount?

The current research aims to:

  • Know the most used learning styles for university students.
  • Know the prevailing personality types of university students.
  • The amount and nature of the relationship is defined between each The Personality Types and each type of personality of the students of the university.

To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used:

  • Scale Learning Styles For Entwistle, et al, The style version. After the Arabization and statistical analysis and the extraction of indicators of honesty and stability.
  • The Personality Types of the nine students (Rob Fitzel '2011). After the Arabization and extraction of indicators of honesty and stability.

The study sample was selected from three faculties of scientific specialization and three faculties of human specialization. 400 students were selected from the university students and then the two measures were applied. Using the appropriate statistical styles, the results revealed that the surface learning styles is the distinctive style for the university students. And the personality types prevailing in the sample of the study is (the satisfaction of others) has received the highest average, followed by the seventh style (the fun enthusiast) in the second order, and then the eighth (defiant defending himself) in the third order and in light of these results put the researcher a number of recommendations , And proposals.
