Abstract

The objective of the current research was to identify the effectiveness of an integrative selective counseling program for a group of orphaned adolescents. The sample consisted of 68 adolescents from the Iraqi House of Creativity at the age of 14-16 years. The researcher applied a measure of fear of intimacy to the sample As a whole, after the statistical analysis of their scores on the scale, the researcher chose the highest quadrant of the high grades, reaching 18 adolescents randomly distributed in groups (9) in the experimental group and (9) in the control group, and then the researcher equivalence between the two groups in the variables of age and degrees On the measure of fear of intimacy, the total number of sessions was (21) session by two sessions per week (90) minutes, and after the application of the pilot program on the experimental group showed the  following results :

  1. 1. There are significant statistical differences between the average ranks of the experimental group in the (pre & post) scales on fear of intimacy which were in favor for the post scale.
  2. 2. There are significant statistical differences between the average ranks of the experimental group and the control group in the post scale on the fear of intimacy in favor for the experimental group.
  3. There are significant statistical differences between average ranks of the experimental group in the post scale and consecutive( follow-up) scale on the fear of intimacy in favor for consecutive scale.

In light of the results of the current research, the researcher put for ward a set of recommendations and proposals.
