Abstract

Shiite political thought dealt with democracy as a method, not a belief, for public decision-making, as a necessity necessitated by the peaceful coexistence of community members.

We will try to clarify the views of the four Shiite jurists in Najaf on democracy and the democratic political system, who were represented by the religious authority after the change of the Iraqi political system in (2003 CE), and they are: Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, Sayyid Muhammad Saeed al-Hakim, Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad and Sheikh Bashir Hussain al-Najafi
