The effectiveness of teaching using the PECS strategy in the historical awareness of fourth-grade literary students in the subject of history
Abstract
The current research aims to recognize “the effectiveness of teaching with the PECS strategy in the historical awareness of fourth-grade literary students in the subject of history". To achieve this, I conducted an experiment that lasted ten weeks. The researcher chose Al-Muhajireen Secondary School for Boys intentionally to apply the experiment. (23) students for the experimental group and (22) students for the control group, and the two groups were rewarded in the variables (chronological age, intelligence, previous achievement, and Historical Awareness Scale), and the researcher approved the experimental design of partial control for two equal groups (experimental and control). Extraneous variables, and the experiment was applied in the first course of the academic year (2020-2021), and the statistical program SPSS and Microsoft Excel were used to extract the results, and a statistically significant difference appeared in favor of the experimental group that studied the PECS strategy on the control group on historical awareness.
