Academic Delay and Its Causes Among Middle School Students by Type and Branch in Baghdad governorate

Abstract

The workplace is an educational guide in the outstanding Aleifa secondary for girls The Presented Study aims at:

• Knowing reasons for the delay of students in middle school.
• Knowing the statistical differences in reasons for the delay to gender ( male / female) and specialization ( Scientific / Humanity).

The Sample consists of (200) male and female , Students middle school , (100) males and (100) females and applied the scale of academic delay adopted by the researcher which consists of five fields ( the field of physically , the field of psychological , the field of mentally , the field of family , the field of School). Of the statistical treatment ,the results Show the existence of standard is the arithmetic mean of alternatives ( 4 , 3 , 2 , 1) reaches ( 2,5) each field gets a greater mean than ( 2,5) is a real reason for delay , it was found that there were 24 reasons distributed across the five areas , while each reason will have a mean of Less than (2,5) is not an important reason , the existence of Some areas is no longer areal Couse of School delays , the results also Showed no Statistically Significant differences according to gender ( male – female) and Specialization ( Scientific – humanity).
