Sources of Life Stresses for the Sixth Preparatory Students

Abstract

This research seeks to achieve the following goals:

1- Identify the most important sources of life stress for sixth preparatory students.

2- Knowing whether there are statistically significant differences for the sources of stresses of life according to the gender variable (male-female) and specialization (scientific – literary).

The researcher used the questionnaire as a tool, as it was adopted by (Abboud, 2016) and the tool consisted of (33) items. The tool was verified by presenting it to experts and arbitrators in the field

of educational and psychological sciences, so that the number of paragraphs (28) items, and stability was calculated. By the fakronach equation and retest, where the stability factor reached (0,86) and was applied to a sample of (200) male and female students, as they were randomly chosen from the schools affiliated to the Baghdad Directorate of Education, the second Rusafa. It was treated statistically by using the statistical program (spss), and the researcher reached the following results:

 1-The results of the current research indicated that the sources of life stresses for the sixth intermediate students were large, and this indicates that the average degrees of stresses are greater than the hypothetical average, as high pressures negatively affect the absorption and interest of students, which leads to a decrease in the level of students

 2-There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0,05) in the sources of life stressors for sixth preparatory students from their point of view, according to the gender variable (male-female

 3-There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0,05) in the sources of life stressors for sixth preparatory students from their point of view, according to the specialization variable (scientific – literary).
